We All Have Back Pain

By: Linda Bills

Everyone has back pain at some time or another. Do you know anyone that hasn't had back pain? So we're not surprised when new medications for chronic and consistent back pain are marketed to the public every day.

Everywhere you turn, back pain is a problem. Why do you think that is? We've been walking upright since the cavemen, so why are back problems such an issue now? What has changed, certainly not our body structre.

Of course, back pain is is an extremely complex issue. Identifying the problem is difficult, if not impossible without a diagnosis from a trustworthy physician. But it's becoming more apparent that physicians agree that there appears to be some common elements in the source of back pain today.j And what is amazing is how often the back pain is caused by the patient themself. So what are some of the most widespread causes of ordinary back pain?

First, you need to take a look at your weight. Being on the heavy side is an almost certain way to cause habitual, persistent back pain. And yet our weight problem is something we learn to ignore and don't want to discuss. Your back was created to only manage so many pounds of weight. By carrying around that additional 10, 15, 25 or even 50 pounds can you imagine what kind of stress you are putting on your back? People are amazed at how great their back feels after losing those unwanted pounds.

Working out too hard or misusing the back when exercising is also a common problem that typically causes back pain. Many people try to pull or push too much weight when working out and wind up using the back muscles, which just injures them. They are typically guilty of using improper form when working out which itself can strain the back; when the back is cramped up during exercise of course it will be in pain later. If you feel back pain after exercising or lifting weights then chances are you're either lifting too much weight or are using the machines incorrectly.

There are many, many reasons for persistent back pain. And we're all guilty of lugging that extra sack of groceries or playing with the kids, or helping a friend move the couch. One thing to keep in mind is to stretch your muscles before using them or taking that extra minute or two to warm up before hitting the basketball court. Without taking those extra few minutes, you could be putting undue tension on your back.

People don't like to admit these ordinary causes of back pain. But by taking a good hard look at these issues, you can easily take action to prevent that debilitating back pain. So be smart. Isn't it worth it to be pain free? Get the back pain relief you need today. Start losing a few extra pounds, and do your stretching and warm up routines faithfully. Keep in mind that back pain relief is what you're after.
